ATP Written Exam Expiration

Question:

I know the ATP written exam is valid for 24 months.

But, in reading FAR 61.39 it is not clear (at least to me) if it expires 24 months from the date it was taken or if it expires at the end of the 24th month in which it was taken.

61.39 states: "Pass the required knowledge test within the 24-calendar-month period preceding the month the applicant completes the practical test..."

My Laser Test Report says it's valid until 12/31/2009 but, the Ride-Ready oral test prep software says it's valid for 24 months from the date it was taken.

Which one is it?

Oh, and I don't fly 121 or 135.

Thanks for the help guys....

I don't know why ATP test results would be treated any differently than test results for any other rating or certificate and all the others are good for 24 calendar months.

Yep I just finished my ATP written and on the Lasergrade results sheet it also confirms the 24 calendar months.
