ATP hiring instructors that don\'t go through ACPP?

I've recently understood that ATP ONLY considers for a flight instructor position those individuals that go through the entire ACPP program ...

however I just looked at the website which says:

<<ATP now considers interested CFI Program graduates for an instructor position with ATP. These positions were previously offered only to Airline Career Pilot Program graduates, but with the increasing pace of regional airlines hiring ATP flight instructors, ATP is extending this consideration to CFI Program graduates as well.>>

Does anyone know how much truth is behind this statement?

I was just kind of surprised when I read this.

Its true. They had some non ACP students in the last hire class.

Hi,

When they say "CFI Program," are they referring to the completion of the CFI, CFII and MEI or would the completion of any of those satisfy?

Thanks!

Sky,

They are referring to their "Total CFI Program" which includes all three ratings.

Not necessarily true! I am one of those who started about 3 weeks ago (doing the CFI Program including CFI/CFII/MEI) But one of the new (yes, newer than me) instructors was a student of the MEI/MEII 15 hour program!

It's finally true, what everyone has been saying! The airlines are HIRING!!!

I am that instructor he's talking about. I am part of a rare group at ATP. Probably 95% of the instructors are from the ACCP and 4% are from the total CFI program. That doesn't leave a lot of room for guys like me, but it happens. It's about experience level, and TIMING. That's the big one. Good luck, guys...be persistant.
