Atlanta flight schools?

Hi all! Does anyone have any recommendations for flight schools in the Atlanta? I did a little web searching and found a few promising places, but I was curious what others had to say. I get out of the Navy next April and might be moving to Atlanta, and am currently looking for a school to finish my comm, instrument, multi, and CFI. I'd be living in Midtown, so the closer to GA Tech and the surrounding areas the better.

Thanks for any help!

I did my BFR, finished my instrument rating and rented from Superior Flight School at Cobb County - McCollum Field (RYY). They have a good selection of aircraft, and good aircraft and instructor availability. They have a range of 172s, from early 80s P models, through 2007 S models with G1000s. Personally, I liked flying the '75 Grumman Tiger equipped with a G430W. About the only thing you wouldn't be able to do there is your multi, as they sold their Seminole a couple of years ago.

Though I didn't get a chance to participate in any of them because of my schedule here in OKC, they also hold a number of fly outs to numerous locations to get people to expand their flying horizons a bit.

My avatar picture is one of their 172SPs, N707PD.

There are some good schools at PDK.

I learned at Advanced Aviation at LZU...got all of my ratings before CFI there. They now have an all diamond fleet (I learned on old C-152's... oh the horror ;) ).

I'll recommend that school to anyone. They had good instructors and good prices, although I can't vouch 100% for them now as it has been quite a few years.

It's been in the back of my mind to moonlight some there....

I am an instructor at Falcon Aviation Academy. We are 141 Flight school so if you plan to use your VA benifits that is a plus. We are primarily a Diamond Fleet but have a 172R glass, and a 172 Cutlass, 177RG Cardinal and a 182RG. We also have locations at PDK, AHN, CCO, FFC and LGC. We also will tailor a program for you if needed. We have an outstanding record of getting you through all your ratings. I would suggest you talk to Mike Melton and he can set you up for a tour at which ever location you like. http://www.falconavaiationacademy.com

I'm an instructor at Advanced Aviation in Lawrenceville. We fly mostly Diamond aircraft but we also have a 172, cherokee 180, and a mooney. If you have any questions I'd be more then happy to answer them for you. Good luck in your search. Thanks for the positive word PeanuckleCRJ.
