ATC: starting over from scratch?

Modernization? That'll take another 4 years and then some and they will still continue to blame the former Administration. Modernization? This one will be on the Trump Administration. Sean is saying the right things to placate the public......remember he is appointed and will say anything to placate the public and his boss

Mayor Pete was getting the same bad advice from the same career nobodies as the 45 administration and now the 47 administration. Good managers are seen as threats, the way to get promoted is to be mediocre and pad your resume by bouncing around, the decent leadership never gets promoted to a position of consequence.
 
The proposed ARTCC consolidation down to 6 has a lot of us concerned at work….but who knows if that will actually ever happen.

Our current building doesn’t even have usable bathrooms a lot of the time, and the water becomes non potable more often than it should lmao. We absolutely need a new building or huge upgrades, and I’m sure all the other Centers are the same. But combining ZSE/ZOA/ZLA into one building seems questionable to me. God only knows what awful place they manage to find for us. Winnemucca, NV here we come!

I’ve been flying since the 1980’s.

It’s always, “we’re gonna MODERNIZE ATC!” for the n00bi3s and then “Holy crap, this is going to cost… Money” then nothing changes.

It’s commerce. It should be part of a wide-ranging infrastructure bill.

Otherwise, we’re just continuing our descent into being the nicest third world nation you can ever visit*.

To be fair, 2 years had an obstructionist House that would need to approve the massive funding for all of this. Hilariously the farthest right people are still obstructionist in the house and are causing issues with doing anything that involved spending.

Making an announcement means nothing until funding is allocated and they actually start working. I would say there is a 99% chance it wont happen due to the huge sending cuts and tax breaks currently on the table. They literally wont have the money as they add 200-250 billion to the deficit with their plan.
