Also remember that the civil war wasn't faught to free slaves.
We (black people) were only freed as an after thought his main goal was keeping the union intact.
And when I made my orginal comment was talking more about recent times most notably Nixon to our current administration.
But anyways...back to Pan Am cause think this thead is in danger of getting locked or flushed.

Well since the handle is stuck...
Please excuse the continued thread creep, but I disagree with the idea that the civil war had nothing to do with slavery. The start of the war can be attributed to a mixture of causes including Northern and Southern regional conflicts, economic trends, and yes, humanitarian concerns for the welfare of enslaved people. Not all wars are fought for a single objective, and this is another example.
Also remember that the civil war wasn't faught to free slaves.

Um, do the even teach history anymore in school??? I learned in first grade that Lincon was born in a log cabin in KY. He taught himself to read and became a laywer. Doesn't sound like the son of a rich plantation owener to me. Lincon or his family NEVER owned slaves.

Yeah, Nixon was worthless, every party has one from time to time. I don't recall Carter being that effective either.
