What's up with the rumor that AWA wants to buy ATA? I first heard it from some UA pilots 2 weeks ago, but I've never seen any articles about it. I've seen evidence at work that HP (and YV) are researching the possibility.
 
One thing that I learned about acquisitions and mergers from pilot who have been thru both (and there's a big difference!) is that you generally don't even know anything is going on until after it happens.

If you've heard grumblings of 'merger' and 'acquisition', it probably just rumor (rumot?).
 
Looks like AirTran is going to take over the MDW operation. I wonder what will happen to my old company. AirTran dropped Air Wisconsin before, since they "didn't need regional service." Interesting times.
