AT-SAT in Lisle IL Today, 6/22

Greetings:

Just got home from the AT-SAT test in Lisle today. I finished kind of early and only had a 45 minute ride home. There were about 30 or so applicants there to test and only 5 resided in IL. The test proctors said that it was a large class and that they hadn't proctored any tests in a while.

The test itself went pretty fast. You get an energy in there that you don't want to stop. They said the longest you can take is 8 hours. If you stop for breaks and lunch, figure about 6 hours or so and if you plug along through it, about 4 and a half which was closer to my time. I hope that going fast didn't hurt me at all.

Feel free if anyone wants to ask me any questions. I'll be checking this thread several times a day over the next several days.

Question for those that already took the test...what were your efficiency numbers like on the ATC scenarios? My best was in the 80s and the others were in the 60s. Any correlation to your test score?

Thanks.

Ted

My eff. rating for the AT scenarios was in the 70s and 80s. Took me about 5 hours (with breaks) to finish the test itself. If you did well on the math, you can bank on a WQ score, IMHO.

my efficiency ratings were between 72 and 91. I scored a 94.5. Test took me about 5 hours with a long lunch break.

Thanks for the insight. I'll let you all know how I did when I find out. The hotel was the Wyndham of Lisle IL. It's pretty easy to find...right on Warrenville Road just east of Naperville Road, and on the north side of the road. Can't miss it.

So I took my AT-SAT today in Lisle. It was a much larger crowd than the last time I took it in March of 2008. On my way in, I was thinking so much about mental math, I locked my keys in my car! Luckily I had cracked open my rear windows and was able to reach in and hit the unlock button.

Then, the guy sitting next to me had AWFUL gas! I could tell every time he shifted his body that something was going to be blowing my way. It sucked!! I mean what can you do besides just cover your nose??

I hope to do better than last time and get a WQ score, but the math portion killed me again I feel...

Sorry about your luck in having such a neighbor! Better luck on your test score!

Thanks! And I forgot to add something.
I felt bad because my other neighbor on my right was doing the AT Scenarios portion while I was finishing. I noticed a whole lot of plans on his screen so I took a closer look. He wasn't accepting ANY handoffs! He would just let them go their course. He must have had 20 planes on his screen. I wanted so badly to tell him what he should do!

WOW... You should have done this - :chair:

Can you give me an example of the hardest math question on the test?...

Can you give me an example of the hardest math question on the test?...

An aircraft is flying at a ground speed of 200 knots with an altitude of 18,000 feet and is descending at a rate of 10 feet per second. After 5 minutes, what will be the airplane's altitude?

-OR-

An airplane is flying at 125 knots with a 25 knot headwind. How far will the airplane travel in an hour and a half?

I vote for:

15000

and

150

How does that sound? Are there many questions harder than these two?
