Assistant Dispatcher at Hawaiian

I believe its 28% less than a regular dispatcher, so it should make it right around the $32k/year range.

Fyi, this posting does NOT require a dispatchers license.

Good luck to everyone.

I suppose if you have just gotten your dispatcher's license (or are planning to), are from Oahu, and are living with your parents still, you might be able to make this work. Otherwise it doesn't sound feasible.

For those of you looking at moving to the majors at any cost... this is it. Way better than a scheduling job.

Sure, Hawaii is expensive but if you're good about it you can make anything work. I don't have payscale figures handy but it looks comparable to American's and workload/pace are very laid back. Someone I know who used to dispatch there has told me previously that assistants are typically upgraded in less than a year but YMMV.

Honolulu is a nicer place than the cities many other majors call home.

I agree you do have to think long-term in this industry...but man, that first year there would be ruff. Of course, my first year at a major was no picnic.

*Honolulu the least affordable housing market*

The average Honolulu home costs 8.92 years of a household’s pre-tax income, making it the least affordable housing market in the U.S., according to a financial literacy website.

NerdWallet also found metro areas in California to be among the least affordable, while an average home in South Bend, Ind., costs just 1.5 years of pre-tax income, making it the most affordable U.S. housing market.

To arrive at its calculations, NerdWallet divided the home sale price by the median household income in each market, to determine how expensive homes are in terms of wage-earners’ salaries.

A grand. It was a place on Lewers and Aloha. Even came with free parking, all utilities paid and cable TV. Sweet deal and took us a week of constant searching to find it. After getting a gun pulled on me and watching a few shootings on the Ala Wai from our place it was time to leave the area.

$1,000 wow thats pretty good. I been looking for a place in kaneohe, salt lake, pearl city or aiea.. The avg price i found was $1200 for a small studio, some with street parking and some without parking..

Is so expensive in oahu. I think i'll stick to living on maui.. A little cheaper and safer.. No shootings here. Too bad theres no real aviation jobs out of maui... Not unless you know how to fly tour helicopters! :/

It is always a bees nest around the HAT. We were thinking about buying a house on Maui if I stayed longer but I was lured away.

Well, guess I'll be getting a TBNT if they're going internal...was worth a shot at least.
