Get your resume's in! Low timers can apply too possibly.

I'd love to work there. I have my app in so I guess there is a chance. Good luck to everyone.

Low timers can apply all they want, as many times as they want. ASA, eg hmm, Atlantic Southeast, uses airlineapps. The hiring department sets the "search criteria" if you will. The low timers don't meet it, the low timers don't show up in the system. :D

I was referring to the reduced total time for the interview that ASA has. Low timers have a shot if they went to UND, ERAU or ATP. At least, that is what I think the reduced minumums are meant for. 1500 isnt asking a lot though especially in this economy. ASA should have no problem finding plenty of pilots with >1500 TT. ASA is one of the better regionals as well.

A snippet from an email to me from the director of operations:

Yes we have within the last 2 days started hiring off the street since we are unable to fill a October 11 class with XJT furloughees. The class will be for 24. We have a class of 24, all XJT furloughed starting Monday. ExpressJet is starting to recall at a higher rate than expected.

After the transaction is complete (sometime in Nov) we will be combing the hiring process into one. Pilots will do one interview to be considered for Atlantic Southeast and ExpressJet. We will determine where they are placed.

Too little - too late.

Good luck to those applying. It's a fine company with great people when we're staffed properly and not pissing off a couple thousand passengers a day.

A Shoestring Airline.

I threw in my stuff, but after reading that sentence how do I know I won't get stuck in EWR?

haha Unfortunately thats true for most airlines these days. I don't think I've ever flown on an American Airline and not been pissed off by the time we landed. The best was on a recent trip I was denied a free cup of water.

I tossed my app in last night. I am ERAU (if the reduce mins are true) but I highly doubt they would take me at this point.

Honestly, for this cycle you need to have someone walk in your resume/name. We are only really hiring about 15 off the street. Maybe 20. The whole process should be wrapped up by the end of this week or beginning of the next.

I won't be surprised if we start up a hiring cycle next year that is more robust, so put your application in anyway, and keep it updated.

ORD and EWR are always in need. They keep moving people to ORD from the other bases, particularly EWR (we lost 35 captains on the last bid to ORD) so despite what crew planning says EWR is almost always understaffed, and winter is right around the corner.

And FWIW I think all the recalled pilots went to ORD and EWR. EWR really isn't that bad, depending on where you commute from.

Best of luck!

Paul
