AriBen hiring outside CFI's?

i also so this on their website. is there anybody their at ariben now, and how is this affecting flight training? it also looks like maybe a couple of prices changed. i think the pro course is the same but i think the 100 hr. multi might have been raised a little.

1 month ago I was all worried about only having 20hrs of ME time.

Now I'm told I dont even need anymore. Looks like I wont ever get to use my MEI.

Wouldnt an MEI be useful if you ever want to be a checkairmen?

This seems weird too! I know a guy there now and he has no intentions of staying... What's going on, bad equipment, bad mgt, what? Also where are all the "pro" students? They get the 200ME and just bail to get back home or just going to the airlines that fast?

Try 'All of the above'. And add 'bad/absent pay'.

I am an alumni of ARI-BENS 100 hr time build program 2006! :)
However, I have had some great difficulties getting into a regional and some of you may know. Wish not to go into detail however, have a VERY SWEET opportunity for a G450 Right Seat. With a starting salary of 80-85 K. With a 3 week on and 1 month off type schedule in the CASS System as well! Only problem is my hrs. Need a total of about 2000-2500TT and about 300-500 MEL (Prefer Turbine but piston is alright)! Am only a CFI but willing to get MEI ASAP @ ARI should Marry want me. Furthermore, if you all know of good 135 ops let me know (OTHER THEN: AIRNET, FLIGHT EXPRESS, RAM AIR FREIGHT).

Currently I have this:

Personal and Customer Service Mission Statement
I posses nine of what I consider the most important qualities of a First Officer and one day Captain: initiative, high motivation, outstanding organizational skills, self-starter, integrity and good communication skills, team work, caring, and ability to conduct a program to its fullest while keeping in mind safety being first. My easy going nature and ability to get along with people would certainly contribute to my ability as a crew member and function both as a friend and a mentor.
It's easy to talk about building customer loyalty. But actually providing the exceptional customer service experience that creates loyalty is another matter. To offer that customer experience requires employees who can respond quickly and personally to customer requests, whether it's for product information, a transaction history, or changes to a pending flight. Empowered, knowledgeable employees become a company's customer service champions, and Million Air. is working to provide the technology that helps a company grow with on time performance!
My Philosophy and Challenge of Customer Service

A company that provides great customer service can gain a competitive edge. That's because study after study shows that customers today aren't happy with the way they're treated. That in recent years the difficulty faced by retailers and others in meeting customer expectations and handling growing customer volume has led to declines in customer satisfaction in a wide range of industries, from retail to healthcare to travel.
When customers show up in a somewhat sour mood due to rising energy prices and the feeling that their paycheck isn't going as far as it once did. Moreover, the customer dissatisfaction has wide implications. The U.S. economy is heavily dependent on increases in consumer spending. Such increases are hard to come by when consumers become less satisfied.
It doesn't help that customers today have more choices than ever before, whether it's seeking merchants on the Internet, demanding greater customization, or wanting answers to questions around the clock with time sensitive materials.

Clearly, offering superb customer service confers enormous benefits on a company. The right technology can create a pathway to great customer service by empowering employees to fully focus on the customer rather than spending their customer contact time looking up records or asking other employees for help. With information about a customer or a company's products at their fingertips, employees can put to work their experience and desire to succeed for any company that relies on satisfied customers. And satisfied customers become what a company really needs: loyal customers. I feel that I am ready to provide your company with excellence in this department. Cause with out them your company does not make profits!

I just saw the position is now salaried at $35,000

The details on the salaried positions are still being worked out, but he wants a 12 month contract. Not a bad way to spend a year and make a little bit of extra money to pay down loans. If you don't mind living on the cheap(but still going out a few times a month), you can get by in Vero on $800/month if you're a single guy with a paid for car.

I think Mike is finally starting to realize that, while the flight training is pretty good, the knowledge training is sub-par at best (largely due to the fact that, currently, instructors aren't compensated for ground and have 0 incentive to do it.)

I've heard he has no clue how to run a business and things are good down there. Also would this be why they have such an issue with CFI students and them taking so long to get the initial CFI because their students lack the knowledge of ground throughout the rest of their training?

Cheap shot- Mr. Cohen is a brilliant business man.

I would say that he knows how to run a business so well that it hurts him a little. THAT is how he keeps costs down, SELF STUDY.

Cheap shot not! Know of 3 different people who would say the same thing. In addition if its so great why would you leave and go to Skymates where they know how to run things? Also anyone can keep the cost down when they lock into a fuel price as low as he got.

In addition if he knew how to run a business I'm sorry but CFi's would be sticking around and it out to find bigger and better. And in addition self study is great I'd admit but ground is needed period! Dare to argue?

Im sticking it out for bigger and better, and there are a few other instructors sticking it out too. Mike wants a few good instructors that are willing to stick it out for at least a year to count on before the regionals start dropping their minimums.

I won't make the argument that Mike is a brilliant businessman, as I think ari-ben has a ton of problems, but you're pretty much full of it. Wouldn't locking in low fuel prices indicate good business sense? If "anyone can keep the cost down..."-- why don't they?

Also, CFIs aren't sticking around anywhere right now. Check climbto350, pretty much every school is looking for instructors. Yes, the pay for ground issue needs to be addressed, and it *is* being addressed.

$35,000! No way would I work for Mike Cohen, not even for $100,000. This is one greedy dude and to be on a contract and an okay salary, working for him. What do you think he wants out of you? I would say it would be like selling yourself into slavery, he'll own you. You'd have to ask him for permission to pi$$! It would be a year of your life you'd want to forget in hurry. Don't do it. Apply to that place in Bakersfield CA, they pay better and I've heard are good to work for.

And no, this guy has no idea how to run a business! It's true, I was there last year.

1st of all Woog JCer's here are classy. I and the rest of us arent like other forums where we tell people they are full of it for their thoughts. You are entitled to yours as I am mine. I will not put you down for your thoughts. So just in the future post of yours be sure to keep away from any bashing of someone who stating they are full of it.

Secondly locking in a fuel price doesnt make him a good business man. The fact of the matter is your fleet is old, mx is constant and honestly from talking to my friends who are currently there state to me each day if the FAA were to check out your fleet they'd have a lot of them grounded.

Thirdly not every school is looking for CFI's. There are pleanty of guys/gals out there working as CFI's and waiting for the right place to go. Not everyone is jumping onto a regional at 500 hours. Rather some are waiting it out for 1000+ and 135 gigs.

Fourth welcome to JC but lets keep your post and attitude professional.
