Not sure if this is the right place to post, but if so, does anyone know if there is a website that one can access to research previously filed IFR flightplans? Purpose is for research project.
What exaclty are you looking for? If it is for a certain tail number or commercial flight number, check out flightaware. If it is for a certain route, check out fltplan, it shows recently filed routes.
Probably the easiest thing for a one-off project is to contact one of the existing companies that receives a feed of flight plan data (such as FlightAware). They may sell it, or they may assist a research project for "free-effin'-gratis."
For a longer-term project, you may do business directly with the Volpe Data Acquisition Center (http://www.volpe.dot.gov/withus/start.html) to subscribe to their data feed and (maybe?) archive of data.
