Before I started flying, I just went to the FBO and bought real approach charts to fly with. Pretty affordable (cheaper than that printer ink...) and it helped me in the future!

Now that I fly for real, I still use real approach charts!!!

Is there like a Jepp express pack in the area you're living in?

Might cost a little but as Lloyd said, it's the real deal.

BTW, why two 'L's' in Lloyd and Llama? I'm not Ddoug am I?

Man, I wish I had seen this post a month ago.

I just threw out FAA charts/approach plates for the eastern third of the U.S. and then some, because they were expired and taking up space.

Guess instead of throwing them out from now on, I'll put 'em on Ebay for simmers!

And I'm pretty sure many would buy them (provided the cost is reasonable)

Well, I was kinda being sarcastic. I'd give them away. I didn't pay for any of them anyways.

I've tried that....it's cheaper to buy a Jepp subscription!!! Ink is too expensive!

Do you think theyll offer a package reasonably priced with all the plates for the class-b airports in the states, since those are the airports that I usually fly to when Im simming.

NO....lol.

don't print them

either that or print them at school (free laser printer) or work or something like that. or you could just go to the airport and buy the NACO charts, they're only $5. i like jepp plates better but when the price went from $22 to $40, i quit using them. that's just too much money for charts when i only use 10 of them, and even then, on an irregular basis.

If you time your request right, you can get just-expired charts from most FBOs. They're only required to cut out the front panel and return it to NACO for credit as "unsold, destroyed", but they're free to do whatever they want with them afterward.
