Anyone want to swap??? tower for tracon??

I am an ots hire going to SOCAL Tracon... I was wondering if anyone that has been selected for a tower in san diego or orange county would want to switch with me?? Im not sure if it's even possible but let me know. pm me or respond to this thread thanks...

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know..
 
best bet is calling your HR rep and talking to him or her. Some HR reps just won't help people with a switch.

I wish I had an actual TOL and could switch! But I've been offered ZLA. I would love SOCAL Tracon...

Rotf, I've found two awesomely fun ways to heckle the TRACON and Center controllers at the academy since I've gotten here.

1. Tell them real ATCs see the airplanes they're working.
2. If they're in a classroom with windows I say, "Enjoy those windows while you have them - they're the last you'll see for the next 25 years:P.

They usually call me a swivel head in response:(

respectfully.... I currently work at SCT and I have seen first hand how many washouts there have been. I don't want to fail but I know the chance of me checking out here first is very very slim. I am a radar pilot and I am learning airspace, SOP, phraseology, clearances and alot of the time I have the oportunity to monitor. So in theory I have a greater chance of becoming cpc. I also believe that posting on this forum would not give me a realistic chance of switching facilities. I mainly just wanted to see the responses that would come out of the woodwork.

Don't misunderstand me... I would want nothing more than to stay in my hometown, get checked out in an awesome facility 15 minutes from my house, make over 100k after becoming cpc etc. Im just being practicle. I feel that going to a tower or a lower level facility first is the best option. I doubt it is even possible to switch facilities this late in the game. I am also very excited to have gotten picked up, especially in my hometown. All I want is to succeed. :rawk:

I lucked out. I got a level 8 up/down in my hometown.:D

Yeah I kind of sit back and laugh at all these posts just for that reason on here and SM. You see all of these OTS's getting picked up for level 11 and 12 facilities and bragging about the pay. When they get to their facility it's a whole different ball game. One chick on the other forum switched BPT for a Center which is notorious for washing out OTS's. I wish her all the luck in the world but in reality she just spoiled her ATC future more than likely..lol But who am I to talk? Good Luck to everyone!
