I see several sim/grd instructor slots being advertised in the US. Anybody
have any idea what the pay is? I see they're paying only high 50s/low 60s for
a software ENGINEER (!) so I am guessing instructors aren't getting rich.

Rumor has it starting pay is as high as $72k.

That's sounds about right.

Compare to some of the major manufacturer sim instructor jobs that pay well into the 100s. Busiest TCE at Boeing made over $200K last year. Cathay sim instructors gets $7000/month just for housing and around $11,000/month in pay. Emirates has an SFI contract on the B777 right now at $15,000/month.

Emirates/CAE in Dubai pay pretty well for some of their corporate line up as well.

It can be quite lucrative to be a sim instructor either full time; part time; or as a retirement gig. That is one reason I continually encourage guys to get into their training department and get the experience.

Highly depends on the center and program. I know a few people at DFW and they make between 70-85k on turbprop and light jets. The bigger the airframe, the more money you get, in general.
