I heard JAL is hiring international pilots, just curious if anyone here on the board was doing somthing simular. Oh and Mexico and Canada doesn't count

I know a nice lady at Pan Am whose husband works for Cathay in HKG, but they reside in PHX.

I know one 777 pilot who flies for Emirates and is based out of Dubai, lives there as well.

Another 747-200 pilot flies for Air Atlanta, crew base is LHR (London), but lives in Las Vegas. Works his own schedule with the office, 1 month on, 1 month off, 2 months on, 2 months off, etc.

I know of about 5 pilots that work for Nippon Cargo Airlines, Japanese 747 operation, crew base is SFO, which is pretty nice for the boys.

Sweet! Yeah I've heard there's a few 747 international cargo operations that have local bases. That might be my fast track to the 747 instead of working up the ranks in a pax airline for several decades, plus there's no self loading cargo to worry about

On the topic of cargo airlines, is the pay, schedules, benifits, hotels you stay at etc fairly simular to pax airlines or maybe better? I assume cargo has a much higher profit margin and can afford to pamper their crew a little more *shrugs* Cargo pilots speak out!

hey mpenguin1:
That airline you speak of is Air Atlanta Icelandic? Do they hire US citizens? I read about this airline in Airliners magazine and found it a very interesting company. Thanks!
