Anybody here a Delta pilot?

PODUNK
I'm currently a CFI with about 700TT and will be leaving for flight training for the ANG/USAF here shortly. When all is said and done, I'll be flying the F-16 out of Minnesota (pew pew) and I'd like to eventually make the transition to Delta once I'm done with my initial training.

I've looked at the pilot hiring mins and noticed that they have their baseline but the page also says that "When evaluating the flight time of applicants meeting the basic qualifications, consideration will be given to, among other things, quality, quantity, recency, and verifiability of training; complexity of aircraft flown; types of flight operations; and hours flown as PIC in turbine powered aircraft."

After my training, would I be eligible to submit a resume for Delta considering the military flight training? How does a major view the glorious single engine jet time? Anything is appreciated!!!

Worry aout passing flight training first. UPT, IFF, FTU and beyond. Each will use every means, fair and unfair, to find your weaknesses. Don't get close to an 88 or 89 ride. Or you will D.O.R, Mayo....

Don't worry about rocks so far off. Worry about not hitting the near rocks.

Noted! Was just throwing the thought around and was curious.

Thing is, as far off as it is, info now will likely be obsolete by then. However for planning purposes, it wouldn't hurt to know the mins, sure.

Let them know in UPT that they really need to just expedite you through, since because you already have your aircraft, you don't need to waste your time busting your butt and trying to be competitive for track/assignment, or wasting your time as a FAIP. They were the ones dumb enough to go active duty. They'll appreciate the candor. :)

Third..There is a nasty rumor that sometimes surfaces that the head honcho ( @Derg ) of this here Jetcareers forum...drives Delta jets...

You can't say things like this in these circles. It has to be something like "I'd love the opportunity to be able to interview with XXXXX at that time."

Some guys have been getting beat up at the regionals with the same hope for the last 10'ish years. Some fragile egos as well.

Good luck!

Just want to say congrats man! I wish you many a "rawr" in addition to the "pew pew", and hopefully all inverted.

This will be the first thing I do! Don't know why I didn't think of this earlier...

Pretty solid unit though up there at Duluth. Bet they wish they were still air defense, vice general purpose. There's still about 6 of their F-4Ds here in the boneyard, in both colorful as well as subdued livery.
