Regarding the few points of conversation above about ATP vs. Ari... [ QUOTE ]
Realize that lots of "Professional" pilots and CFI's are very loyal to their school or FBO, and others are extremely proud of the way they "did it", and they believe that that was the best way... and most likely it was... for them.

as I was saying...

I find it amazing that as much as some of you bash ATP and all of the programs it offers, I still find your comments throughout this board.

[/ QUOTE ]

what are you talking about, i'm not bashing ATP and don't think I ever have, although I really don't care for this new program and all the RJ stuff their pushing now.....i'm just trying to let people know there is a cheaper alternative...and you get the SAME thing! Everyone seems to be blinded by all of ATP's advertisement and tends to overlook the other options, I know thats how I was at first. I'm just trying to help people save 10 - 20 thousand dollars because the people before me on this site did the same for me. I would have ended up at ATP and spent a lot more money for LESS multi-time with only a hit or miss shot at an instructing position there if it wasn't for this website and the people from the other schools giving me "all" the information. That is what this site is all about.

If you don't like anything about it why are you always in here reading? Oh, I know, you are hear waiting until you can go on your next training flight.... in 3 days!

[/ QUOTE ]

sorry buddy, I fly twice a day, 5-6 days a week....ATP isn't the only place you can finish in 90 days

[/ QUOTE ] And, I'll say it again.... if all you want to do is fly in FL then by all means go to Ft. Pierce!

[/ QUOTE ]

What the heck is that suppose to mean?

Re: Any thoughts on ATP\'s new program?

Nothing but sour ATP students. Go to the Ari forum, there isn't ONE SINGLE bad comment about training, etc on those boards...I don't think you can refute that.

Ryan,
Take care, we'll see you in about 25 days in Fort Pierce.

Re: Any thoughts on ATP\'s new program?

Out of 970+ posts... yes there are negatives in Ari Ben's forum... and... out of 5400+ posts... yes there are negatives in ATP's.

However... the majority of the negative comments that I have seen on both forums... aren't from disgruntled students, but from competing instructors, trying to bash each others school. I tried to be sublte with that in my previous post... did anybody catch it?

When I was a student trying to do my research... this was always a negative... trying to sift through genuine experiences and other instructors trying to get the best of the other school... (it happens in all forums... not just here.)

Can't we all just get along? /silly catchphrase

I guess you're right.

Re: Any thoughts on ATP\'s new program?

I agree...I'm sure there is negative posts in there somewhere about both schools and it is hard to sort through everything....really the best way to get info is to PM or e-mail actual students/instructors to get the real low down, because everything just turns into a flame war if you put it out in the open.

Honestly, both schools have their advantages....ARI is more of a laid-back training environment.... we fly wherever we want, whenever we want and set our own timelines, our planes are probably not as nice and shiny but the cost is much lower, around $12,000 less in my case. ATP obviously has nicer equipment and a more rigid schedule which will certainly appeal to some but that comes at a price.

...you really can't go wrong with either school but we're all a little biased I guess.

[/ QUOTE ] Agreed again, well said.

Doug has a post in the Pan-Am forum that kind of addresses this... those that are researching flight schools, pay close attention to his Honda vs. Acura analogy. Here...

yeah, that was a good post

however, I would say that Ari-Ben is more like buying a slightly used Honda thats got some miles on it, still a good reliable car that will get you where you need to go, but it has its quirks.
