I'm a CFI-I and I'm possibly looking to instruct in the SFRA DC area (I live in Gaithersburg). Any previous experience or recommendations is appreciated.

Washington International Flight Academy is at GAI - they're the main flight school there. There are a couple of flying clubs (Octopus, Congressional, Inn) who have CFIs and are always looking for new members/instructors. I'm a member of Octopus and could put you in touch with the club officers if you want.
As far as instructing and networking, if you're willing to drive up to FDK or out to JYO you have more options for instructing with a traditional school - Aviation Adventures, Av-Ed and I've heard about a newer operation up there which is operated by Open Air under a different name.
Send me a PM if you have any questions about the club.
Do these schools/clubs have enough of a student base? I used to instruct down in FL, so I'm spoiled in the sense that there was no shortage of students to teach. My first priority is finding a school where I'll be busy instructing and flying.
Thanks for the input. I'll check those places out.WIFA is pretty busy. They seem to have a lot of students and they are the only flight school attached to the FBO at GAI.
I prefer the club approach, myself, but WIFA does have a twin, and they also have a Redbird sim.
Aviation Adventures out of JYO or HEF is probably the overall busiest place in the area, though. Depends on where you want to live and teach, I guess.
