Just wondering if anyone has been selected for Ohio or knows anything about the staffing levels at any of those facilities. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I actually recieved the email this morning. I was selected for an Ohio terminal position, just don't know where yet! Are you planning on DAY? Or did you want another facility?

I have a family member that works at ZOB , and i do believe that everywhere in Ohio is needing people with the current retirement rates. I also don't think alot of people want Ohio, i haven't seen people on the forums who put that as a geo preference.

Congrats on the big news!! As for me, I'm a 5/2er so I've got a bit....but would love Dayton (or anything in Ohio really). Where would you like to end up?

Thanks! I'm excited!
I live in Columbus, so i would prefer Columbus. Dayton wouldn't be bad, i heard that they are building a new tower & facility?! I only put down Ohio as my Geo preference, so maybe you should do the same ? ( if you only want Ohio that is) i have seen a lot of people not getting their first choice, and well with me they didn't have a choice! lol :p Have you taken your ATSAT yet?

Scheduled for the 17th in Lisle, IL. Feeling pretty good about it, though I have to admit I'm anxious and just want to get it over with. If you don't mind I'd be interested in hearing a little bit about your background (ie military, other aviation exp, college grad etc) you might have to share. Good luck to you the rest of the way & thanks for your replies.

Hey! I took mine in Lisle , IL  LOL My advice, don't stay at the Wyndham, if you aren't driving up.. not worth it.. i stayed there thinking since it was the test location it would be better, but it was such a waste! Nice hotel, don't get me wrong...just too much for one night alone! Well i guess i shouldn't say a total waste since i scored well.... but there are cheaper hotels right acrossed the street- i didn't research it too well. It is a real nice test location, though...i had only about 9 people with me... a lot didn't show & they also give you a waiver so you can get cheaper lunch. I had spent $15 the previous night on a hamburger! So keep that in mind.

Anyways, if you have any other questions feel free... i live on these forums now.

Wow i totally missed the rest of your question!

I'm not military... my entire family is now it seems but not myself. No aviation experience either unless you count skydiving?
I haven't finished college either! Lol I was getting a degree in Film Studies at Ohio State of all things, and well i went to LA and hated it. So here i am 10 classes short of my bachelors in a field i'll never use and going to be an Air Traffic Controller...random huh?

Let's just call ourselves the 3 amigos... or 3 ohioans... O-H! Haha, jk, Couldn't help but read something about Ohio towers... I'm a born and raised and collegiately-attended Ohioan (OSU... if you couldn't tell). I applied for OH. i'm in the 5-2 pool, so im taking ATSAT here in a week or so... Dayton IS building a new tower... progress/blueprints would show it will be a great upgrade (I grew up in Dayton so DAY has a fond place in my heart). Currently living in Colmbus so CMH wouldn't be bad either! I put OH as my top geo pref but I've still got a while too... best of luck!

Well I'm sure the schooling helped out with the experience requirement of the application if nothing else, so it's not a total waste. I'm currently about sixteen hours short of my degree from Ohio U majoring in Aviation Management and will wrap that up this summer... can't wait to get it finished. As for my hotel arrangements, I got a couple free nights at the La Quinta from some sky miles and it's only about six miles from the test, so I lucked out there. I wish I had some better questions for you now but I can't think of any off hand... but I'm sure I'll come up with some as the time comes (hope you don't mind:))

[FONT=PrimaSans BT,Verdana,sans-serif]Congratulations. You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at the Cleveland ARTCC in Oberlin, OH.

Add me on to the list of Ohioans. I've applied for PUBNAT3 and PUBNAT4 (or will apply for 4). I'm going to put Ohio down as my first choice, and maybe my only choice after reading this thread. I'm hoping for CAK. I'm also an Ohio U guy (for mathematics). If selected I'll end up a couple quarters short of my degree as well. I really hope all of you keep this thread going so I can track progress and hopefully end up meeting you at my future facility. I'm hoping to be in OKC around the same time as you PUBNAT2'ers, but I'm not so sure about that. Anyways, keep us all posted!

Hello,
I'm also an Ohio guy. I applied to the 5/2 posting and I'm taking my AT-SAT Monday,June 30th in Lisle. I live in Sandusky so I'm hoping to stay in the area, probably move east if things work out. Enroute or terminal in the Cleveland area would be fine with me, Columbus wouldn't be bad either.

Ken

I'm SUPER EXCITED !! LOL As far as celebrating i don't know what terminal I'm going to be interviewed for yet , not fair :(

But YAY for OH-IO ! :p

Congrats to all who got picked up! I'm a Dayton native(Kettering) working at Cleveland Center. Came in from the Air Force about ten years ago. I worked approach in the AF and loved it, but Enroute is an absolute blast! ZOB is a great facility. Plenty of traffic to keep you interested, fast paced, and great people(most 'trolls are). Cleveland is a great area also, tons of stuff to do.
If you have any questions feel free to E-mail me. Welcome to the job!:D
