Anyone fly out of Hicks Field in Ft. Worth? (T67)

I just moved to the area, anyone that is interested in flying a bit, holler at me. I'll chip in for some gas and what not. I'd like to be shown how the locals operate being that it's surrounded by lots of airspace. I'm also interested in finding some hangar space, a small spot for a 152

I was an instructor at Pro Aircraft out at T67. Flying in and out of there is not bad. Be mindful that the pattern altitude is not a 1000ft AGL. The train tracks and hangars proximity to the runway creates really tough mechanical turbulance when there are stiff cross winds. The wind sock can be decieving when a train is moving at a high speed and there is a strong cross wind.

Do yourself favor and don't make a call that you're over Eagle Mountain Lake. That lake is huge and no one will no where you are if you just say that you're over Eagle Mountain lake. Copeland airport is an excellent reporting point.

It can get really busy there on Saturdays with Yaks, RV's, and other types of experimentals.

There are/were a lot of foreign students training out of Pro. The majority of them are good pilots though. Most of they're training flights take place due west of Eagle Mountain Lake.

As far as the airspace is concerned. Be mindful of where the base of the class B airspace is when you depart to the west and north. Make sure you're in contact with regional approach if you're going to depart to the south and east. You can get clearance delivery on the ground there.

Don't hesitate to PM me if you have any question . :)

PS: Be mindful of vehicles while taxiing and be sure to give way to aircraft while driving.:)

I was based out of there doing aerial survey stuff for a while. Holy smokes...that is one interesting field. Between the cars coming and going, the foreign stud., the airspace, and oh yeah, the trains, it will keep you on your toes. If you want some real crosswinds, Bourland field South of Ft. Worth always keeps you on your toes also...
