Call the airline! You'd be suprised at the fare quotes sometime.

Also check the airlines websites, orbitz, expedia, cheaptickets, hotwire.........

I think I heard of a site called lastminutetravel.com a while ago, don't know if it's a real website or not and I'm too lazy to put it in my browser and find out.

Check the individual airline websites. I know Delta and Airways have last minute weekends deals, and Delta has deals to various cities having sporting events, maybe youll get lucky.

Is it true that on Expedia your ticket doesn't get purchased right away?

Sometimes the airlines release awesome deals about 24 hours or less if you book them through the internet. My uncle use to get some outstanding deals from Airtran like that.

Also travelocity, and cheaptickets.com have last minute deals, usually you pay about $300-$500 for a weekend stay which includes airfare and a hotel!
