We pretty much have a blizzard here in Denver today. Seems like every time I get a student the wx does me in lately. Hopefully my luck will change soon.

Here is a funny one from DIA.

I like the tower in the clouds part at the end. Looks like alot of folks will be spending the night out there tonight.

I was supposed to fly to DEN from COS at 7am this morning. Never made it! I finally braved the roads home at noon and was officially released from duty about an hour later!

It's ugly out there!

Consider yourself lucky you made it back. From reports on the news, they are saying that there are a bunch of cars on Pena that are stuck and blocking the roads and so on. Not a good place to be in a blizzard.

I made it to the window a few times today but the 3 foot drift in front of my door kept me from going outside.

That sucks that they kept you that long. Did their crew scheduling folks or whoever not look at the forecast?

Yeah, they look at the forecast, but there's always that chance that something could let up and they don't want to be caught without a crew! That and there are only a handful of dispatchers and schedulers handling all the inbound and outbound flights. It takes a little while for them to get everything worked out for all the crews. They try as hard as they can to retain the integrity of the schedules and get crews and airplanes to where they're supposed to be every night. I'm just glad I don't have that job!
