To all you Amflight guys`
How much flying do you guys do on average in a year?

P.S: Thanks for all comments in advance.

Armen

I think I flew about 600 hours in 2006, but I wasn't trying too hard to fly a lot. I'll probably end up flying more this year.

We do have some longer runs where you could easily get up to or over 1000 hours a year. Depends on what equipment you fly, at what base, and what your seniority will get you.

So I hate to say "it depends", but it really does. :)

RJ's are better! :) :laff:

I average 17-24hrs a week depending on the run. But what John said it really does depend on the run some are high time some arn't. And yes people do leave here to go to the majors. I think the ACP in Billings just went to Continental. Equipment upgrade varies with willingness to play ball.

My TPE331's, you mean? :D

What do you do on them?

True, JH ain't on the Metro!

Long time ago this company started out by the name of Sperry. Sperry got bought out by Lycoming.

Lycoming got bought out by Garrett.

Garett got bought out by Allied. Allied and Signal merged and formed AlliedSignal. And AlliedSignal bought out Honeywell! But retained their name.

Confused? :insane:

I work with the A&P's on the TPE331's, all the Honeywell APU's and several biz jet engines. Like for example the HF7000, HF10000, TFE & CFE series engines and the ATF series engine on USCG planes.

They come in we break em down and get em washed. I run the pieces all over the plant for service. Pick the pieces up when done. Take them to analyst who inspect them. I pick them up form the analyst and if the part(s) needs more service it goes to different people. If it is ready to be returned and the engine reassembled for shipment, myself and the A&P put the engine back together and send it to shipping and recieving. And out it goes back to AMflight!

Just a regular day at an R&O!

Sounds like a cool gig. How do you like it?

What would the chances be of getting a tour if I were in the area?

I can find out about a tour just let me know in advance, to find out if we give tours. I see customer or potential customer sales tours all the time. But not sure if we have public tours.

I like it, a lot. Much better then being at a call center. It pays the bills and then some, but past ready to be a pilot already!

:)
