Some of my colleagues payed $1200 out here in PHX. I thought it was bad in Dallas but I was wrong.

Also, $800 for an add-on or $700 for recheck lolol. I rented the airplane and flew about an hour away for an examiner charging $400
 
I did my cfii/cfi in Addison back in March 2013. Subsequently worked for them for a few months after that.

It was alright. There seemed to be a flavor of the week when it came to cfis. Who's to blame for what and who's doing wrong. When my turn came up, I found a job out in livermore, CA and respectfully resigned.

They schedule you day to day so you never know I you are working until bout 3-5pm the day before. The only days you know you won't be working is your two hard days off. Pm me for more info.

That's alright. Thanks though. They offered me at the end of the Academy but went somewhere else with a better paycheck. Just curious of other opinions on working there.

I did my private in LVK at Ahart. Any chance you went there?
 
Hahaha yeah dude! I was there right until there shut down. I was there from October 2013 until November 2014.

That's crazy. My instructor was Kurt U. I got my PPL in August 2012...was considering going back when I was done with school and then saw that stuff on Yelp....still confused about the whole story besides Bill selling the company to some guy and he took all the money and left?

I went to the PMP location all the way from seattle for all the reasons people have already stated. It was really tough but one of the best aviation experiences I have ever had. You will make friends for life. Stay late everyday to work on lesson plans/ practice teach/ teach in the sim or get mor proficient in the sim (if you are doing the II). Don't forget to lay back and blow off some steam every once in a while either ! I have insight on some cheaper housing down there so PM me and I will give you the contact info.
 
I'll be there (ADX) in may to renew my CFI (expired since 2002...). They told me they had negotiated hotel rooms, from $30 to 50$, within walking distance from ADX, that's a rental car saving !

Yeah I think Extended Stay in ADS was around 25-30 last summer. You can do the CFI renewal online though?

I had decided on going to the SMO location as well (I have family in that area of CA, so free housing - yay!!!), but they also told me no CFI course down there. I found plane tickets from NV to FL to be cheaper than NV to TX, so I'm also on my way to PMP this month! Plus, the hotels and airbnb rentals were wayyyyy cheaper in PMP/FLL than in TX. :biggrin: Less than three weeks to go...*so excited* :bounce:
