Just curious if anyone has any experience with the CFI Academy at Morristown. I am seriously considering it. I do realize it will cost more then the 3500 they show, and they did tell me as much. I am just curious about the quality of instructors there and the scheduling of the checkrides, etc... Any and all info is appreciated...
Thanks!

Well, if it helps, I attended the academy at Pompano Beach, FL, since I heard from AF itself and others that this was the best location. The instructors there were knowledge, understood what they were doing and had much experience. There was one instructor there whom I didn't like, but overall I found the time spent there worth the price. The one in Morristown may or may not be as good, but if it's even half as good as the one at KPMP...I would consider it. Just make certain that you have ALL your writtens done, ALL your lesson plans completed and you have already had experience with analog instruments. You will find out quickly that it will make your life MUCH worse if you try to do all these things in the span of a month's time and you don't have any of these checked off.

I did my CFI academy at the Addison location. Have your binder done and be ready to take your writtens. I wouldn't go as far to say have it all done. Unless you are afforded the time to do all that stuff before hand. I ended up spending 5000 total after born check rides. My total time I spent there was 15.6 including bit rides. I ended up working there rigt after that and spent a lot of time with the CFI academy students. If you have any questions just ask.

Thanks for the response.. I have heard it costs a bit more than advertised... Can you tell me a litttle about the ground portion. Do they actually show you how to teach each maneuver as well as have you student teach it? My frustration right now at my current flight school is that they provide no guidance as to how to make a lesson plan or how to teach it. They basically just so go up there and teach me.... Its very frustrating when they provide what you did wrong but dont show you how to correct it....

The first day they teach you how to make a lesson plan. Then thy expect you to get together with your peers and bounce ideas off of eachother to get all the lesson plans made. They do the same thing as your flight school. "Teach me about cuz..." Then after your done, they critique you ok your strong, good, bad and ugly points. That's some powerful stuff because you now know what you're good at, and what you're bad at. I spent 5000 total on my whole entire program including checkrides. I got all my stuff done in 15.6 hrs...including checkrides.

How long did the program take from start to finish?
