Ambien

[Forgive me if this has been beaten to death...]

I understand from previous posts the FAA will approve Ambien for use up to twice a week, and not within 24 hours of flight duty.

I would like to use Ambien to recover from jet lag once I return home from my trips.

If I have my doctor write me a prescription for Ambien, does the prescription need to include those FAA limitations in writing?

Am I required to immediately notify my AME I am taking Ambien, or do I report it at my next flight physical?

Do I need some sort of waiver from the FAA?

Just looking for any pitfalls or "got-ya's" with respect to using Ambien and flying for a living.

Thanks Doc!

I would include the guidance on the label.
Report it at the next flight physical with an explanation of how you take it
No waiver is needed.
