Good golly. How much time could that "unreasonable" vector have really cost that guy? I just think it's a little weird that someone would use up frequency for such a large amount of time in an emergency situation, especially over something so insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

As others said he has some balls. I hope he called and got a chewing instead of him doing the chewing. Even better, allow hime to tell all the people on the Allegiant flight his concerns and let them deal with him.

That gets me so mad.

Like Lake Jessup is that big! Me only had to go 2 mins out of his way. Some of those old coots out there think they're king of the skies and the the rules don't apply to them and everyone else needs to accomidate them.:mad: :yar: They tell good stories, but when they start jepordizing the safety of everyone else, who is following the rules, they need their ticket revoked! I've had several close calls, both during dual instruction and by myself.

::situational awareness::

that's the problem, he probably didn't get the grand scheme of things.

Sanford has a north and south tower freq. He was most likely on the south freq while the other controller was with Allegiant on the north freq. Still doesn't excuse his ignorance and taking up the controlers time.

I am glad someone who is familiar with the area, correct me if I am wrong Howard, he was vectored less than three miles out of his way and yet he act like this. One time he was arguing with the ATC control chick because she wanted him to contact Orlando first. He was like I know but I just forgot, it makes no sense now since I am talking to you now. They were going back and forth for like almost a whole minute. I thought it was so funny, but now after this I don't think so.

Most of the guys in the tower are pretty awesome. Though there is one guy who is a grumper and always sniping at people on the freq. Orlando apporach guys are the bomb! They always help out DCA guys. Does the pilot factory stil have them come to the school to answer questions? Oh and a tip for you. When you do your Instrument end of course ride, when you file and tell them which approaches and hold you want to file for, add that your on your checkride. Orlando approach will see the note and give you really easy vectors, take you out long so you have all the rime in the word to brief and set up for your approaches.

We had one of those the last week in March. Given by grumper himself, we had to go there though. He addressed the grumper thing according to him it's just the way he talks, yeah right. I think his name is Craig, or Greg, or something along those lines.

Both Orlando and SFB are really cool when it comes to DCA... am SPF students. I have made many errors on the radio and they automatically know what I meant and just clear me. It takes a lot of stress out of the situation.

Yeah that's him!:yar: Even the instructors hate when he's on freq.:banghead: The controllers do a great job especially handling the Chinese students.

Im glad you guys have good luck with Orlando. I had to declare my first emergency with them. I was flying straight into a black hole end of the world thunderstorm and they wouldnt let me into the bravo.

I said fine, declared, than landed.

Maybe it's because you weren't an SPF student.:D

You're right Howard, they are super with the Chinese students, more often than not they understand them on the first try. It's amazing because sometimes when they have a request I am like, what?:)

WOW! This sounds like my boss. Its freaky how similar his ranting sounds about things that aren't anything to get worked up about.
