Airsick passengers

Any suggestion for preventing or minimizing passenger airsickness? I know about dramamine, but looking for some alternatives to that.

I have one passenger that really loves to fly, but gets sick with the slightest bit of turning and/or banking.

Swift punch to the face to knock them out sitting in the right seat.
Leave them for a few hours, then wake them up and tell them about the great flight you took.

Cold air and candied ginger. Make sure you get them to look outside as far away from the airplane as possible. Most people focus 20 or 30 feet in front of the airplane which amplifies the perception of movement.

If you're comfortable with it, let them take the controls for a couple minutes. Usually if you connect their sight with some type of control, it helps with keeping their mind off of puking. good luck!

I got motion sickness the first few lessons i took. I never threw up but i sure did feel like it. Ginger and peppermint worked wonders for me. The biggest thing my instructor did to help me with it was to tell me that it was all in my mind. When he knew i started feeling bad, he told me to climb and he took us to smoother air. Then he started talking to me about eveything non-aviation related. Soon enough my mind was off of feeling bad becasue i was thinking about other things. Also bring a trash bag becasue it may ease their mind knowing that they have something to get sick in if it ever happens. COOL CIRCULATING AIR helps. Hope your passenger feels better. It all passes with time. Take baby steps so he/she can get used to the movements. Also since you said turning/banking has alot to do with it, make sure you are in coordinated turns and coordinated flight 100% of the time. That keeps the fluid in the inner ear in the right place and not pushing it to the side or making it do funny things. Alos tell your passenger to look at the horizon or a far away cloud.

I second the ginger.

I prefer flying with a ginger over a brunette if that is where this is going.

I usually just tell the passengers to try to get as much cool fresh air as possible, and that usually seems to help them the most.

Ive never had one get sick on me (with 57 different passengers so far) but I still ALWAYS bring a bag when I am flying with pax.

My flight bag is stuffed with United and Skywest barf bags. I always make sure anyone who gets in the plane with me has one in reach just in case. I wouldn't think it to be a bad idea if everyone kept barf bags on hand, theres a ton of places to get them from.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! I don't think I've ever used that many smilies before, but man, every time someone types that I think of Peppy screaming it. That game was like a drug addiction when I was little. Glad I'm not alone.

Make sure he eats something about an hour before the flight. He's probably flying on an empty stomach. Learned that trick from my instructor when I took up aerobatics.
