The day before Oshkosh prooved to be one requiring great skill. High X-wind components ground looped a few planes, and almost recked this Bonanza towards the front of the mass arrival

Floated Twotter (Twin Otter on Floats) at the Wipair factory. The owners had Wipair design a ramp so they can load an unload jet skis. The idea is they'll fly to amazing surf breaks, unload the jet ski and boards and tow in. Then there is a freshwater shower system built in to wash the toys after use.

I've never landed a seaplane as the sun sets before, it was sweet.

My window at home looks onto my lake, which is a favorite of local seaplanes. All the following were shot from my backyard :yup:

An immaculate 1949 Aeronca Sedan on strait floats that stays nice even with thousands of hours of training seaplane pilots and being kept outside.

Short field takeoffs for floatplane drivers calls for raising one float out of the water.

Why is the gear down in this picture? I have no experience with seaplanes, so I'm curious.

Ha, everybody asks me the same question when they see that. I forget the exact number of feet of water the Goose displaces, but the water there is about 2 ft deep. We don't want any holes in the hull ;)

Nice pictures. This reminds me even more that I need to go get the commercial SES and eventually MES. It has been about a year since I took the private ride, and I want to get back out and get some more float time.
