Let's see... $16.00/hr x 2080 hours/year (40 hours/week x 52) = $33,280/year... for an INTERN...

Let's compare:

6th year F/O (CRJ) Air Wisconsin = $33,300/year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Most Senior F/O (Jet) American Eagle = $31,100/year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
5th year F/O (CRJ-200) ASA = $33,300/year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Most Senior F/O (Jet) Chautauqua = $30,600/year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Most Senior F/O (Jet) Express Jet (CoEX) = $29,700/year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

7th year F/O (Jet) Mesaba = $32,400/year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Most Senior F/O (Jet) TransStates = $30,200/year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Pretty sad state of affairs... A brand new hire Intern making far more than most Regional F/O's (and even more than some regional captains)... But hey, they get to fly a jet... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I agree with you, this is very sad. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I think that eventually pilot are going to be force to go to

another career.

It will be hard for the airlines to find pilots willing to work for

those wages and the salary will rise again.

Ok I'm awake now
This was just a dream! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

Actually, when airlines cannot find people to work for certain wages, instead of improving quality-of-life issues and increasing pay, they'll simply drop their minimum requirements and the resumes come rushing in! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Weird business.

Hey that sounds like scary stuff Falcon Capt.

On a sidenote, I wanted to that everyone here at JC who gave me advice in the past. I found out a lot about the truth in aviation thanks to this forum and am no longer one of those dreamy eyed pilots, who just looks forward to flying a jet. LMAO I have to laugh at it because I was such a fool. But thanks to you guys and the research I am exploring other options.
