Airplane Pictures

I took these at SFO when I was on my way back from network JC.

Kind of cool to have all those liveries there and it was interesting how the glass of the airport windows affected the colors!

You're Nikon Jedi Master!

Me, I'm just a mere 5 megapixel Padawan.

Nah, Doug. I've seen your work and it's good. Seriously, I just was at the right place at the right time. I got the right angle of the sun and the windows at SFO helped.

And I only have 1.2 megapixels more!

The real pro is photopilot -- he gets people to PAY for his work!

those are cool shots tony! in the second picture, what airline is that who has what looks like a skier in a yellow (or orange) circle on the tail?

That's Lufthansa, the German airline. It's a bird, like a pelican.

Yuppers! It goes Ted, two old UAL, then Air New Zealand, then another old UAL, then Lufthansa.

The other one has UAL and then Singapore. I thought it was cool how the two of them were taxiing right past each other.

That corner of SFO is awesome. Our gates are right behind the corner from there and when we were taxing in yesterday I looked over and saw a 777, 747,777,747,747,747 lined up at the gates in a row and another 747 was pushed back waiting to taxi. Thats awesome.

Takin pictures of/from planes is pretty fun as long as its not the same thing over and over and over again (which is still fun to a point). Those pictures are pretty cool Tony. I really want to make it to SFO sometime, lots of different airlines that you dont get to see too often. I've found that if you have any aviation shots worth seeing, its worth it to post them on either airliners.net or jetphotos.net I've had a couple offers to buy pictures, but both were from not-for profit companies so I let them go for free. Just a hobby for me, so if they're not gonna make a profit, then neither will I. Not to mention one was an aviation safety magazine in Australia. I guess the guy didn't get his article published, but he still sent me a Civil Aviation Safety Authority tie and pen as a thanks.

Oh, man, you should have seen me when I was at NRT! Here in the US, we're so used to seeing the US based carriers. Well, the only US carriers I saw there were United and Northwest. Off the top of my head, I saw Malaysia, Philipines, Singapore, China Airlines, and of course JAL and ANA.

Cool stuff, man!

Oh yeah, NRT is my "home" airport, every time I go there I come away with a bunch of pictures. Check out the link in my signature if you wanna see them. Only been there once with my new camera though and didn't have a lot of time, maybe over christmas I'll have to make it down there.
