Airline Perks

What are some of the better airline perks/interline/airline discounts (whichever name you want to go by) are there? I noticed the company has a long page of web-sites that can be used. However, when I was browsing through them and comparing their "discount" rate (hotel and car) to the normal rate found with an on-line search they were identical. So I'm curious if there are any sites that are really worth their time?

Never really seen any of my "perks" work out to all that much better of a deal then just shopping around. I think I saved 10% on a weeklong car rental once upon a time. For me the biggest perk is Non-Revving and Zed'ing on other airlines...

I haven't really used too many of mine, mainly because I can't rent a car and the hotels discounts are in cities I never go to. I do get a discount on my phone bill though, I think it's 20%, which is nice.

Might not be what you're looking for but I think I can buy Microsoft Office for $9.95 through my employer. That's what I'm going to do when my macbook dies in a few days/months.

I'm actually continuously amazed at what types of discounts I am able to get. Recently I was in a sandwich shop down the street after work. I was still in uniform and I was told that I was receiving 10% for being a Southwest employee. I have no idea what type of affiliation this small mom and pop sub shop has with Southwest if any but they give a discount. We also receive 15-20% off on all of the cell phone carriers. We get like 10% at Apple store, Target, BestBuy, and some other major retailers. Obviously lots of discounts at hotels and other travel related services. In our company magazine there is always a bunch of advertisements for discounted products and services for employees. Too many to name really.. Oh and one big one I forgot to mention is 75% off shipping at FedEx. Anytime I ship something I always send it overnight because it's like $8.

Hmm, I'll just have to dig deeper then. I work for 9E and I have been browsing through the "perks" recently seeing what's out there. As far as the Fed Ex shipping, I have heard we get a good discount with them as well, however, I can't find any information about it on the web-site anywhere. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, who knows. I find our benefit pages a little confusing.

Thanks for the replies!

The FedEx discount is great I was able to over night a pretty big document for like 4 dollars.

Non-revving=Non revenue travel. Most airlines let their employees take empty seats for a small charge, or usually free on the airline they work for, hence the term non-revenue. Zedding refers to ZED fares, Zonal Employee Discount. Most airlines have agreements with each other that their employees can do the same kind of travel for a reduced rate. For example the company I work for has agreements with pretty much every airline you've ever heard of. Some of them are cheaper than others though. It's an absolutely awesome perk (or it's usually used for commuting crew members) but low prices and equipment downgrades are keeping flights pretty full so the usefulness of it has definitely gone way down an the headache factor way up.

Check out perx.com. I used them to book a resort in the DR once...something like $60/night all-inclusive for my (then) girlfriend and I. All you had to do was be an airline employee to get that rate.
