ok - having trouble with my tiedown dimensions on the airport apron design i'm working on...

The FAA says that single engine and multi-engine should (?) have the same tiedown dimensions... however, is there a difference in spacing between the single engine and multi-engine tiedowns and if so, any idea on what the dimension(s) would be?

anyone know where i can find an aerial (plan view) of a tiny GA airport like Bagdad (one runway with 200ftx300ft apron area)?

I think your best bet is to get onto the airport with a measuring tape - I am sure someone here (or even Doug) can get you on the inside.

your probably right on that....maybe i'll be taking a field trip this afternoon! haha

well, i found out one of the planes is a cessna conquest... with a wingspan of 44 feet whereas a single engine has a typ. wingspan of 27 feet.. so It makes me wonder if I need to have a couple of tiedowns that have a 40 foot distance from wing to wing for hte multi-engines....or if the single engine tiedowns at 24 feet apart would suffice?

All I know is at the davenport airport (KDVN), the tiedown spacing sucks. You alway have to pull in front and push the plane back into it. I dont know if its like that at other airports, but across the river at Moline (KMLI) I can pull in straght in, do a 180 and be right on the line, with planes on both sides.

They get alot mor multiengine airplanes though so mabey thats why there spaced more.
