Provides trip scheduling and coordination support for Company. Requires ongoing interaction across a broad network of customers, internal and external resources and service providers to ensure consistently outstanding pre-trip planning, real-time trip support and post-trip reviews for quality assurance. Coordinates requests for aircraft trips and scheduling aircraft in a flight operations system (FOS-NT), including tracking aircraft maintenance schedules and availability. Applies basic skills and procedures appropriate for the position within the assigned functional area. Works with either close supervision or under clearly defined procedures, prescribed and completed with little autonomy. Typically requires up to 3 years of experience. Entry level. Provides technical and/or administrative support. Demonstrates the ability to learn terminology, applications and standard procedures for performing the job function. Performs routine, basic office/field tasks using established procedures.

Operates three Boeing 737-700 aircraft under FAR part 125, a CASA 212 under FAR part 91, and a DeHaviland Twin Otter under FAR part 91. The Flight Dispatch Specialist is responsible for flight planning, flight release, weight and balance, flight following Boeing part 125 and North Slope part 91 aircraft, meteorological analysis, communication and coordination involved in safely operating aircraft in accordance with FAA and Company standards. Additional responsibilities include data entry, record keeping, statistical reporting, and other administrative tasks associated with flight operations.

Required:

FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
Five years dispatching, flight following, air carrier operations, or comparable aviation experience, with a minimum of two years' experience in Alaska. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Preferred:
Computer literate with proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with computer flight planning systems, Rockwell Collins FOS software, Boeing 737 systems
Strong knowledge of flight planning concepts, weather theory, Federal Aviation Regulations
Knowledge of business aviation industry standards such as IS-BAO and OGP
Strong communication skills with the ability to be patient, flexible, and diplomatic
Strong ability to multi-task, concurrently work short and long-term projects and meet concurrent needs of multiple customers
Strong ability to solve problems and make timely decisions under pressure
Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
Actively communicates and takes time to safely perform work to protect our people and environment
