Depends. If we think there’s a chance you’ll put us back on the STAR, we leave it in the box. If not, we will get rid of it so that our VNAV isn’t planning our descent off a whole bunch of flying we aren’t going to do.actually, your post made me think of something and I got a question. A STAR finally has published holding in my airspace at METRO. Say you’ve been vectored off the STAR towards final, and for some reason you can’t land yet and you need to hold for a bit. Would sending you direct metro to hold as published be fine, or since you’ve been vectored off the STAR you wouldn’t know what I’m talking about anymore?
Not hard to plug in direct to METRO, pull up the STAR chart and tell the plane now we want to hold.
