Federal Aviation Administration Tyndall AFB, Florida:<BR /><p>Serves as an Air Traffic Security Coordinator (ATSC) within the AJR-24 ATSC team embedded at the 601st Air Operations Center (AOC), a core element of the Continental U.S. NORAD Region &ndash; First Air Force / Air Forces Northern (CONR-1AF (AFNORTH). The ATSC is responsible for ensuring appropriate coverage for watch position on the AOC&rsquo;s operations floor and cooperating with NORAD, specifically CONR-1AF, on military air missions, which directly affect NAS operations.</p> <strong>Duties</strong> <p> <p>The Air Traffic Security Coordinator (ATSC) performs complex, specialized air traffic control assignments. Carries out specialized duties for security events affecting the NAS, including, President of United States airspace coordination, Vice President of United States TFR management, Active Air Patrol airspace coordination, Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) violations and provide real-time situational awareness to inter-agency partners during NAS security events.</p><p>Incumbent applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of air traffic control procedures and operations as well as FAA programs, regulations, and missions. Utilize FAA&rsquo;s ATM capabilities to provide real-time NAS insight to inter-agency partners, including the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). Provides support to the Continental NORAD Region (CONR) ATSC&39;s by assisting in the detecting, validating, identifying, and responding to Air Domain threats, particularly potential airborne threats, while mitigating safety and efficiency impacts on the National Airspace System (NAS). Mitigates potential safety and efficiency impacts caused by security threats and/or NORAD activities on NAS operations, translates threat intelligence into actionable airspace security plans supported by the FAA and provides Air Traffic Control (ATC) related technical advice to NORAD, particularly CONR-1AF, on NAS and other ANS issues potentially affecting air defense planning and operations. </p><p>Incumbent defines, organizes, and allocates resources to accomplish important work activities within established schedules. Manages the Domestic Events Network (DEN) and assist HQ DEN when required. Maintains situational awareness of NAS security events and provide FAA Situational Awareness (SA) and ATC Subject Matter Expertise to the 601st Air Operations Center Chief of Combat Operations. Supports operations by redeploying without notice to the 601st AOC&rsquo;s continuity alternate facility, typically using military transport. Cooperates with CONR-1AF, other NORAD elements and inter agency security stakeholders to provide air traffic management (ATM) expertise and capabilities to facilitate the planning and execution of air defense and other, related security air missions, particularly those involving NORAD assets.</p><p>Contacts are internal and external to the agency. Often represents the organization as a senior point of contact on projects, programs. Plays an integral to the FAA&rsquo;s operational efforts to sustain the safety and efficiency of the NAS. As an authority in air traffic management, provides expertise for the planning and execution of NORAD exercises and responses to conventional military threats. Supports Air Forces Northern (AFNORTH) Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) and other disaster response and domestic operations efforts. This position&rsquo;s duties are operationally critical to the Nation&rsquo;s defense, as well as response to natural disasters and other significant hazards.</p><p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </p>
