Federal Aviation Administration Atlantic City, New Jersey:<BR /><p>This position is located in the Office of NextGen (ANG), William J. Hughes Technical Center Office, Air Traffic Systems T&amp;E Services Division, Terminal Automation Branch, ANG-E57. The Division&rsquo;s mission is to provide quality Test and Evaluation (T&amp;E) products and services to ensure that current National Airspace System (NAS) and future next generation air transportation systems are verified and validated using best practices and quality standards.</p> <strong>Duties</strong> <p> <p>The incumbent serves as an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) for enterprise operational integration testing of current and future National Airspace System (NAS) capabilities. Develops ATC test procedures and scenarios, and conducts, coordinates, and supports development and enterprise operational testing for Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) programs. Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for Trajectory Based Operations (TBO) Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDTE) programs. Works on a multidisciplinary team, which may include: computer/electronics/general engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians, and IT specialists.</p><p>Serves as an SME in the Acquisition Management System (AMS) phases, specifically, Mission Analysis, Investment Analysis, and Solution Implementation. Leads ATC test efforts, which includes field participants, to ensure requirements are met and to determine the operational suitability and effectiveness of the system under test. Coordinates with, and provides testing and technical support to test director(s) and test leads.</p><p>Applies experience and detailed knowledge of air traffic control practices, procedures, operations, as well as FAA programs, regulations, and missions, including NextGen principles associated with present and future projects. Incumbent coordinates with Program Offices, Regional and Service Area offices, National Air Traffic Controller Association (NATCA) representatives, and air traffic control facilities in the terminal and en route environments. Assignments may require working across functional and/or organizational lines. Typical assignments may include: review of operational requirements, research and analysis, investigation and inspection activities, and<br> supporting project/program management.</p><p>Contacts are internal and external. May act as a technical point of contact for assigned activities. Contributes to the preparation of technical reports or contractual documents, and may be called upon to communicate the overall results of a project or work activity to FAA leads.</p><p>Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allows discretion to select the most appropriate approach or to recommend new approaches. Assignments typically require solutions that are to be derived by interpreting and extrapolating from situations that were faced in the past. Provides recommendations to improve work processes and test approaches.</p><p>Resolves problems with limited guidance from senior team members and/or management. Refers difficult problems and questions to the manager or more experienced specialist. Identifies and informs technical leads of problems that require their attention. Develops and recommends techniques to address problem situations.</p><p>Work activities typically support and may be vital to the success of projects or activities of one or more organizational units, subdivisions, and LOB&39;s/SO&39;s.</p> </p>
