Federal Aviation Administration Warrenton, Virginia:<BR /><p>This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), System Operations Services, Operational Readiness Directorate, Contingency Operations Group (AJR-X2). The mission of the Operational Readiness Directorate is to build contingency into the culture of the FAA. AJRX2 executes this mission with the primary focus of rebuilding Operational Contingency Plans (OCPs) for all facility domains within the National Airspace System (NAS).</p> <strong>Duties</strong> <p> <p>Applies experience and comprehensive technical knowledge of air traffic control procedures and operations, as well as the National Airspace System (NAS) operations and procedures to coordinate and direct contingency planning for impacted facilities and their support network. Serves as the lead focal point for the Contingency Operations Implementation Team.</p><p>Applies experience and technical knowledge of the maintenance, equipment and facilities that support air traffic control operations.</p><p>Performs complex, specialized air traffic control assignments, to include participating in air traffic facility operational contingency planning and integration, along with stakeholder engagement as it relates to activities such as training, new requirements, lessons learned, and the establishment, standardization, implementation and sustainment of new tools to improve the response for contingency events.</p><p>Provides technical guidance on a wide range of highly complex issues associated with facility contingency planning and integration.</p><p>Participates in developing tactics, techniques and procedures for the planning and implementation of OCP&39;s, including the coordination, development, and standardization of training for the three deploying OCP Rebuild Field Teams, formulation of the rebuild waterfall calendar, and monitoring and adhering to all FAA policies, procedures and processes.</p><p>Reviews and assists in the rebuilds of critical facility Operational Contingency Plans (OCP), to include basic and advanced plans in preparation for events ranging from planned equipment outages, severe weather effects, smoke detection/possible facility fires, to a catastrophic event that directly affects a facility for extended periods of time.</p><p>Identifies, assesses, and analyzes significant processes and issues supporting or impacting the FAA strategic plans and goals pertaining to the ATO as a whole.</p><p>Possesses expertise in multiple NAS platforms within the Systems Operations environment and the ATO.</p><p>Has an understanding of new and future systems operations technologies and processes.</p><p>Analyzes FAA contingency policies within the ATO, to determine appropriateness of application and the impact on the NAS.</p><p>Analyzes and evaluates technical data to summarize assists in the development of conclusions for the preparation of reports or policies.</p><p>Provides support in compiling technical requirements for the development of new capabilities to improve operational readiness.</p><p>Analyzes, evaluates, organizes and presents conclusions developed from lessons learned gathered during exercises at field facilities and recommends solutions.</p><p>Applies knowledge of project management on a national level and provide oversight of projects related to operational contingency improvements.</p><p>Uses knowledge of FAA policies and objectives to define, organize, and allocate resources to accomplish important work activities within established schedules.</p><p>Broad policies and objectives provide general guidance for completing work objectives, but allow considerable discretion to develop new or innovative approaches. Draws on experience and knowledge to solve unusual problems.</p><p>Represents the organization as a senior point of contact on projects, programs, research and acquisition.</p><p>Work is performed independently, though the work is subject to review by program officials and representatives of external entities for quality of results and compatibility with regional and national goals, conformance with established policies, and consonance with program objectives. Work is typically reviewed through status reports and at completion.</p> </p>
