Air Marshalls

I just saw a thread on another board and read the article relating that Federal Air Marshalls are being "furloughed"?? , for lack of a better word , off flights. The article claimed that budget reasons where the reason. How in the #@$$ can we afford the billions it cost to "liberate" iraq and issue peace in africa, but we cant afford to pay air marshalls anymore?

How important do you think these guys are? Just another seat being occupied by another non-rev or a good last line of defense?

Ahh!

You're starting to see that this whole 9/11 reaction was more about government control than it was about actual real security!

This was the one post 9/11 program that I thought could really help aviation security. But no, why watse our time protecting oursleves from terrorists, it's easier just to attack Sadam.

All because the gub doesn't want to pay for their hotel rooms. what a crock. That being said, and while I believe Air Marshalls are a great security measure, passengers will not let hijackers take over a plane.

Would much rather see Air Marshalls than the Thousand Stupid A**holes.

I was severely harassed by a TSA jerk named Frank Tryan in Indy today. He was physically threatening me.

I'm posting his name so you others will look out for him! The guy looks like a WWE dropout and he has a really bad attitude.

I've always wondered this about Air Marshalls: why don't they board the plane like other passengers? Here at MCO, they escort them down to the ramp, then they walk up the jetway stairs to board the plane. Seems to me that they would board them with the other passengers so no one would KNOW they are air marshalls. To me, IF there was someone on the plane planning to do something Really Bad, they would see this and decide to wait until their next flight. If this is just a stupid Orlando thing (and it wouldn't surprise me), someone clue me in.

They do the same thing at Dulles. Come on guys! If you do it that way you stand out and give yourself away.

True.

Then the bad guys who which passengers are sky marshalls, kill them first, and then attack the flight crew.

And then I've got to pull out my cockpit crash axe and start that scene from Braveheart I've been practicing in my head since 9/11.

I was stuck in Lima Peru when 9/11 took place and was just wondering Doug if you were in the air when it happened.

the answer is simple:

1) Rob Peter

2) Pay Paul in 30 year treasury bonds

3) Keep all your receipts and totals hidden until you are re-elected

4) Cite the source of the defecit as the result of bipartisan bickering
