Today was so memorable. Mike (Mpenguin1) set up the coolest tour of a Film Studio that specializes in Aviation. Mad Props to you mike!

This place, Air Hollywood is quite amazing. They have these modular sets of full cabins of planes and a full mock-up of a cockpit. They also have a complete Terminal that is the coolest thing ever. I was taken back by it all. Their studio is responsible for movies such as Kill Bill, DodgeBall, Triple X, Soul Plane, and much more, but I can't remember any of the other movies. They also do a lot of the TV shows such as CSI and Alias and much much more.

The Owner was the nicest guy and led the tour of the place to all of us. While we were there they were shooting an Apple advertisement in the cabin of the 777. Also in their narrow-body mock up they were filming the new show LAX. The owner let us get up close to everything and really showed us the red carpet.

Here are some pictures of the place.

This is the wall of the owners office. He had a collection of all the mementos from airlines and trips that he has taken.

This is what we all thought of the Tour!

Again I want to thank Mike for all that he did to get this tour together. Next time I'm down in LGB, lunch is on me! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You can go to their website and read more about them. AIR Hollywood

The Cockpit was interesting. They use Fluorescent lights to light up everything underneath the panel(guages, switches, etc) , and for the LCDs they use Microsoft Flight Simulator and a program similar to this Project Magenta

Dude, that airport hallway is an EXACT replica of one of the old A-side hallways at MCO, right down to the fonts on the signage. Only difference is the posters, but I'm pretty sure they have those set up to change depending on the location.

They have an entire warehouse full of various signs from numerous countries & domestic cities.

They also had a bar and when they were filming the movie Dodge Ball they changed it into a coffee stand, which I thought was sweet.

Heres another picture. I Thought the windows on the left side of the fake terminal looked pretty cool. This entire terminal is built up on a wood platform and everything is interchangeable to what the customers wants.
