Air Force One program

MarkE

Greetings, Professor Falken
There's a cool show on The History Channel called Secret Access: Air Force One that airs at 9pm PST. Definitely worth giving it a view.

And the support flights moving all the equipment/personnel/peeps is a pain in the ass too. I don't miss all the weekend trips to Waco...:D

did you see the part where they filed a flight plan into Baghdad as a gulfstream? wouldnt that put a larger than normal primary target on a radar screen?

The Banner ws the main mission when I was at McGuire. I hated them too. It sounds all cool to tell people that you hauled the presidents motorcade around, but it really sucked actually. Everything was ultra security and the secret service dudes, well most of them were just like you see in the movies. And then there were all the Bravo and Alpha alerts we had to sit. There were 2 crews on Bravo alert at all times. It was like being grounded when you were a kid.

HA!!! I actually got along with the drivers and the SS guys really well. They were pretty cool dudes. Now the Marine guys (carrying the white top helos) were a bunch of NTACs! It was always fun to wake 'em up in the middle of the flight to "go do a scan". The real tools were awakened at least hourly! ;) Oh, bravos...how I miss them...NOT! I do have a slight issue with the show...all C-17s...that's such BS.

Yeah I watched it last night and the program was awesome. I didn't know what was involved in just on simple task. Makes me respect the military more.
