Air Force 2 muscles over a Cub

AF2 is whatever the VP is flying in. AF1 is whatever the president is in.

Not entirely true.

This only applies if they are being flown in/by Air Force equipment and personnel.

The helicopter you see land on the White House lawn is "Marine One" when the President is on board, and the VH-60s that travel with him abroad are "Army One" under the same conditions.

When first lady Clinton traveled to Iraq, the Army pilots that flew her were reprimanded for making up and using the call sign "Broomstick One". You have to appreciate the nuts it took to do that!

Negative, those VH-60 "White Hawks" belong to and are flown as Marine One as well. HMX -1 is the only Marine unit to have the H-60's to my knowledge.

I remember seeing what I believe was this 757 doing touch and gos in CHO (Charlottesville VA, I hate using obscure airport identifiers). I always thought that was pretty cool.

There was a Blue and white 757 doing touch n goes in BGR a month or so back.

It was kinda cool to hear "Bar Harbor Traffic, Air Force One..." over the scanner. Barry landed in Blue and white GIII.

If the President was ever in a civilian aircraft the callsign would be "Executive One"

Edit:someone beat me to it

I saw it doing the same. Although, it seem like it was Lexington, but I can't remember. Either way, it was cool to see.

Nixon once flew on an UAL flight. That's a little different. A buddy of mine is in the PAG and was telling me they have painted one of the GIII's with the Prez's seal. He also got to cruise in the G550. It's good to be the king!

They go out all the time to practice under the "Venus" callsign when the VIP's aren't aboard. Kinda funny to call traffic and hear the other pilots say "is that what I think it is?" "Yes, but not really"

Also if you are ever driving on the Capital Beltway by Andrews AFB occasionally you'll see the 747 doing pattern work.

I see United States of America painted G550s doing touch and goes in LNS every once in a while. Looks like a heck of a lot of fun. :bandit:
