They show the same series originally Mayday in Canada, and change the name of it and call it 'new.'. Previously aired on Nat Geo as Air Crash Investigation and now airs on Smithsonian as Air Disasters

Those guys demonstrated some real courage fighting for their lives against that selfish psychotic person, and the DC-10 is a hell of a machine to make it through that.

Story as I heard it was this guy went through Meridian, had absolutely no business being in an airplane, much less getting a pair of gold wings, got pushed through for political reasons, and continued to fail repeatedly throughout the rest of his short and unremarkable service as a "Navy pilot" (quotations because he isn't, wasn't and will never be one of us).
