Ah yes, forgot to ask about teachers...

I forgot to mention who I was assigned for 102 ground school. It says in my schedule: Bjerke.
I checked UND's online directory, and apparently it's a female. (Elizabeth?)
Anyone had her before?

Also, for 103, I'm assigned Bartelson.

Just curious and bored tonight. Figured I'd ask.

So...just a little more than a week, and I'll be meeting you guys over there. (that's IF you're not partying that Saturday, in the lovely city

Oh, and forgot to add...
I won't be flying right away. The financial aid stuff hasn't been handled yet.
This REALLY sucks.

I've never had Beth Bjerke for a teacher so i can't say how she is.

Bartelson is really cool you'll enjoy his class. Watch out though he loves to try to convert pilots to ATC guys.

Bartelson is a great guy, but he doesn't really teach Avit 103. He might show up for the first day of class and give an introduction, after that its just 3-4 TA's that teach.

Hey UND Flyer, I noticed your in Aviation Management at UND and I'm visiting UND in a couple weeks. Just wondering how hard the program is to be studying in business and flying. I'm not from ND and I'm visiting just to see if it's worth it to live up there and get ratings and degree or if it matters that I don't go up there and say get a degree from Ohio State in Business since I'm from Ohio and get training around there?

Jeremy,

The Aviation Management degree is a little harder, since you have to take classes such as Accounting I/II, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, etc. The main reason I'm doing Aviation Management is because it will allow me to have a back-up, in case I'll loose my medical or I can't get a flying job just to name a few, but I also would like to work in management and fly in the future. When are you coming to UND? I'll be here until June 25, 2004 so if you're around or if you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me

I'll be up June 10th to the 12th. Going to get the tour of the college and aerospace and see what kind of response I get when I ask why I should go to UND and what benefits I'll get for getting a commercial job going to UND than most students who are trying to do the same but at a FBO or some small college flight school.

I had her Bjerke for my PPL checkride. Just be prepared to work...a lot.

I had Bartleson too. He is really friendly and a hard worker. As long as you arent a dumbass, you will be fine.

Gotcha.

I have heard from a UND student that is from where I'am, that Phys 150 is hard and that more than half the class dropped it, is that the same still or could it have been the teacher?

That class sucked, but having said that, it was really easy. I skipped half the classes, did the homework and didn't do so great on all the tests and got a B. The teacher always has a great curve in place so I almost got an A, without any effort at all.

So, my advice would to take that class right away and get it over with.

p.s. It is a much easier class in the summer.

or even better take the AP test in high school for Physics like i did and i clepped out of it and never had to take it

Which sucks, as my school didn't offer AP Physics—only AP Chem, which I just gave up on as it wouldn't really make any difference. Boring stuff, my god.

you can take it at the AFB and the credits transfer over. if you don't have a car hitch a ride with someone that does and split gas. it's better than getting a D if you take it here.

I got a C in that class the first time I took it with the hard teacher. Dewar is no longer "teaching" the class. The class isnt that hard if you go every day. If you have a question, run down after class and make him/her teach you. Thats how I got through
