AGI questions

I am studing the ASA test prep material for the CFI knowledge and the AGI test. The ASA test prep has several choices for practice test "airplane flight instructor" and "ground instructor". (already taken the FOI).
The ASA ground instructor practice quiz has alot of helicopter, balloon and gyroplane questions. I had heard the the FAA AGI test was very similar to the airplane flight instructor test.
Has anyone taken both of these test recently? Does the AGI have these type questions on the test? or has anyone used the ASA test prep for the AGI test.
Thanks for the help.

I have not seen or done anything with the writtens lately, but historically, since the AGI is not category or class specific, the ground instructor writtens have always included some helicopter, glider, and ballon questions.

Yeah, I actually took both about 9 or 10 months ago. The question bank was nearly identical, but like you said with the AGI, there were some helicopter/glider/etc. questions as well. On the actual written exam, I only got one question about helicopters (fuel reserve minimums), and that was the only none airplane question I got. I never used the ASA Test Prep, I just used Gleim software. Can't imagine it being too different. Good luck with the studying.

I have taken both, and there is not much difference if you study all of the Gliem Flight Instructor Test Prep. The biggest thing I can remember is the CFI written is more about endoresements, and the AGI was more about techical subjects. If you sutdy the whole book you do fine. I got a 92 on the CFI and 96 on the the AGI.
