AeroLynx / Aero Charter & Transport

Speed Pilot

Brain Damaged
I may be in their next class. Any good, bad or ugly I should know about? I know they fly 310's and 402's. Pay is $100 a day plus $40 per diem. Medical benefits after a year. They don't pay you during ground training. I've done some homework into them as well as talking with the Director of Operations, just looking for anyone's experiences with them or their pilots.

I'll even listen to semi-substantiated rumors. :)

I don't know anything first hand, but I talked to a couple of guys who had worked there years ago, and they had nothing terribly bad to say. Typical 135 cargo...dirty airplanes, hard hours, etc. but nothing out of the oridinary.

That's the jist of what I've heard from one person that used to work there. I was just trying to get more than one viewpoint.

From what I can gather the only way they'll look at you is with an internal rec. One of our charter pilots used to work there, he made a phone call, the DO called me and I was told I would be in the next class if I wanted it. I've talked to a few guys now that applied and applied and never heard anything. Sounds like they usually have who they want in mind when an opening comes up. That may not be true but's it's what I've been able to piece together.

Oh yeah. I have IFR mins +85 multi.

I have a buddy that works there... just completed training. I also have another buddy fired from there. Training was one flight in the 402 and then another training flight that actually turned out to be a checkride. Seemed very disorganized.

I work for south aero across the taxiway flying the same equipment minus the 310's. I have to say I would put my trust in their aircraft over aero charter. They treat me very well, no overnights.. awesome maintenance (I can write anything up I want to:D) Maybe I'm biased but Ive been in ABQ for a few years and heard ramblings of aero charter and the kind of operation they run.

Thank you. That's the kind of information I was hoping to gather.

A friend of mine worked there a few years back and quit after a couple months because of their view of maintenance requirements. When he had a primary flight instrument fail in hard IFR on the first leg of his route (at night), they expected him to finish his route that night...
