There is this ad i read. guy is looking for someone to fly from Miami to Portugal in a PA-31. Sound really sketchy to me. Free anyone looking for multi time. Can you guy's give some feedback or advice on this.

http://www.silverexpress.com/ then go to classifieds on the left hand side and then first ad underneath flight sharing.

The price of the multi isnt bad? Is that 7k for one person or are they thinking splitting of the time? If so that's about 7k split for 100 hours. Not horrible at all? legit?

I emailed the guy. He said send him a copy of your CV which is like a resume i guess. He also want a photo.

Uhhh, so he wants you to ferry an airplane for free? How are you supposed to get back? He should pay you time and expenses plus a return ticket, that's how it worked when I ferried airplanes.

Thats the thing . Sounds like hes flying with you, maybe to get some sleep like MOJO said. Pa-31 woundt you have to stop in Santa Maria in the Azores. What do the rest of you think. Is it legit.

Something inside tells me he's not going to hit the direct button and settle back with a cup of coffee. You'd have to either go down to south america and go over to africa or go up the north route, greenland iceland , ireland...
Why wouldnt it be legit? Dude wants someone to put the gear up and down and some conversation, talk about along haul.

That's what the second dude is for, to flap their arms on the right side of the plane when it runs out of fuel over the Atlantic.

I would be really cautious about flying a plane I do not know over Canada, Greenland, then over the Northern Atlantic to Iceland. After all, if you lose an engine you're going to drift down to at least 2000 or 3000 feet above the water...and that's if the other engine is in great shape. I don't know about you, but I would not want to be several hundred miles out to sea on one engine. :)

Ask a lot of questions!

It may be legit, but if he's flying you can't log the time. You also need to think about getting back, which could be pretty costly. I'd also try to find lots of other details about the airplane as in what kind of shape it's in. You'd be covering a pretty good stretch of water.

If you're looking for an adventure, I'd say you've found it. If you're looking for a legal way to get some more multi time I would say look somewhere else. For the price of a return ticket you could be pretty close to your multi commerial or MEI.

I'm sure it would be an experience you remember for the rest of your life.
