Activation and seniority

Let's ay someone were offered a job at an airline and then they were given activation orders. Would that individual retain their seniority/longevity if they deployed before they started training? I would think you would, but I could see an airline put you on day 1 F.O pay up your return from deployment.

If you haven't even started training yet, you aren't really an employee. Therefore, no position to come back to. What you need is to get hired, finish training, work one day post-IOE, then get deployed. No question that you are covered then.
