I can't seem to find a PDF version of this at the FAAs website, let alone googling. Yet PTS section II, task:A references it for the CFI check ride. Anyone have a PDF version of it?

Looking at the current CFI PTS from the FAA's website, section II. Technical Subject Areas Task A: Aeromedical Factors under references states: AIM; FAA-H-8083-3, FAA-S-8081-12, FAA-S-8081-14.

I have a printed copy of AC 61-21A dated 1980, but I think it was superceded by the Airplane Flying Handbook. You can find some on Amazon and in used book stores, but I don't think it's current. It's also not listed among the references on page 3 of the CFI PTS.

No, it's not you. The FTH was much better than the AFH.
At the time, I thought the FTH was kinda dry, but with the publication (and required referenceing) of the AFH, I saw a marked 'watering down' of the basic principles and descriptions of training maneuvers and purposes.
I still use the old FTH for initial training.

I'm actually considering that, myself. Or at least using it as a core for teaching some of these things once I finish my CFI... we'll see.

Especially the spins. The old FTH gives a much better description of the various aerodynamics occuring during pre-entry, entry, fully developed, and recovery, than the new AFH.
And when these aerodymics are better understood by the new pilot, all of the slow flight and stalls, and landings are better understood, whether you do spins or not.

I have the link so I can check back from time to time. It was the text when I learned to fly. My wife bought it for me along with my first 3 lessons.

Slower...are you saying you have a computer link to the FTH text? ...and if so, would you share it?
