Job Title: Pilot - OCONUS
Location: , Afghanistan
Overview: This job is located overseas in austere environments with a deployment rotation schedule. Responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of each flight assignment. • Plan flight assignments and obtains information regarding purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures and special instructions • Prepare preparation of flight plans, considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities and navigational aids • Ensure proper flight kit is aboard • Ensure that required airworthiness inspections have been accomplished and any previous discrepancies have been corrected or properly deferred in accordance with the MEL for that aircraft (as applicable) • Complete the aircraft preflight inspection and performs preflight preparation
Education/
Experience: • 2,500 total aircraft flight hours; 1,500 total rotary-wing/fixed wing aircraft flight time, as applicable • Must report or have no accidents, incidents or FAA sanctions within last five years (none preferred) • Required: Must be proficient and qualified as a pilot in the last 12 months. • Preferred: Have at least one year of experience as a FAR part 135 pilot of an aircraft. • Preferred: International Flight Operations experience • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. citizenship required) LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS • FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman’s Certificates - Rotorcraft Helicopter is required for RW pilots/ATP is required for FW pilots • Required: Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate
General
Comments: Assures proper loading, distributing, and security of cargo and passengers • Assures that carry-on baggage is placed in cargo area. Determines that aircraft weight and balance is within prescribed limits, prepares Aircraft Flight Log, Load manifest and Discrepancy Record form and assures that a copy of each Aircraft Flight Log, Load Manifest and Discrepancy Record form is delivered to the flight operations center or Chief Pilot for filing upon the completion of each flight assignment • Ensures provisions for passenger comfort and any special emergency equipment such as life vests are aboard (when required) • Retain final responsibility for the logging of aircraft flight time and the filing and closing of flight plans and preparation of his/her flight and duty time records • Operate aircraft at favorable altitudes taking into account turbulence, oxygen requirements and comfort of the passengers during the flight
